Every member of the Lismore House Dental team is devoted to ensuring that their skills and knowledge remain at the forefront of dentistry, so we can deliver the best *pain free dentistry in Carlisle.

Mark Fortune
Mark graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2007, achieving distinction in the final examinations. He has had a varied career, working in Scotland, Australia and England. Mark’s particular interests within dentistry are cosmetic orthodontics and restorative dentistry, in particular adhesive dentistry (working with white filling materials and other materials that are glued to the teeth). He prides himself on providing high quality, beautiful dentistry in a painless manner…
Matt Gribbon
Matt graduated from the University of Manchester in 2019 and successfully completed foundation training within North Wales. He worked for a short period in general practice in North Wales whilst taking further examinations to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Following this Matt has taken Core Training posts in the Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery departments at both the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Cumberland Infirmary furthering his surgical knowledge and skills.
Matt will be starting a master’s degree in dental implantology beginning in September 2023 to further build on his surgical experience whilst continuing to offer a full range of general dental treatments.
Rebecca Fortune
Rebecca graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2007. Since graduation Rebecca has worked in general practice and has gained experience working in a variety of settings within Scotland, Australia, and England.Rebecca enjoys all aspects of general dental practice and strives to provide the best care she can for all her patients. She sees herself very much as a family dentist and she is particularly good with anxious patients.
Rebecca is currently working towards a postgraduate certificate in restorative dentistry under the tutelage of some of the key leaders in the field.
Outside of dentistry, Rebecca loves spending time with her husband and two young children. They spend a lot of time in their garden nearby in the Lake District and they also enjoy spending time with family and friends. Rebecca is also interested in interior design and various arts and crafts, especially pottery. She loves to travel and see the world and particularly loves visiting France and loves pretty much everything French!
Angela Edgar
Angela graduated from Liverpool Dental School in December 2010. Previously Angela had worked as a dental nurse in the community dental services in Carlisle, where she helped treat a lot of nervous and anxious patients. Jackie Dobson
Jackie is a qualified dental hygienist. She qualified in 1987, receiving her training within the RAF and serving for a further five years. Following her time with the RAF she lived and worked in Cornwall, moving to Carlisle 2001. She works at Lismore House Dental Practice on a part-time basis. In her free time, Jackie is a keen gardener and has an interest in photography, walking and is an animal lover.
Gemma Robinson
Gemma started working at Lismore house in 2015 as a dental nurse. She is now taking on the role as practice manager/smile advisor. In her spare time Gemma enjoys reading, as well as going on long walks with her pet dachshund and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Sarah Morton
Sarah qualified as an NEBDN dental nurse in 2002 and has worked in dentistry for over 25 years. She is a friendly and caring member of staff who takes pride in her work and often puts her acquired counselling skills to good use with nervous patients. Sarah brought a new role in to Lismore House in 2021, the care and wellbeing officer. This is a role that involves taking time to ensure all staff are in a good, healthy head space within their working hours. Her door is always open for staff to come in for a chat if needed. Currently, Sarah has moved into a new area of dentistry within Lismore House as the full-time treatment co-ordinator. This is a role that helps patients feel supported throughout their journey within the practice, whilst helping them to achieve their dental goals. It’s a role that incorporates her dentistry and people skills and a position within Lismore that she enjoys very much. Sarah loves chatting to patients and building rapport with them, creating trust between patients and the practice is very important to her. In her spare time, Sarah likes to renovate and up-cycle furniture, with a keen interest in old collectables. She also likes to spend time with her husband, twin girl’s, and Rex cats.
Catherine Garcia
Catherine is our practice receptionist and started in 2022. She enjoys meeting patients and making their visit a pleasant experience. Catherine loves to spend her free time with her family and friends and also enjoys travelling .
Chelsea McPherson
Chelsea Is our trainee dental nurse and has been with us since June 2022. In practice she enjoys working with Mark our dentist and hygienists. She is enjoying learning new things and progressing in her role further. In her spare time she likes to socialise and go to concerts when she can.
Caitlin Purdham
Caitlin started at Lismore House as a trainee dental nurse in 2022. She has worked very hard with her studies towards qualification and enjoys assisting the dentists within the practice. Caitlin has a very gentle nature and this shows in her nursing style, she particularly enjoys the variety of working with our dental therapist Angela. In her free time, she likes to take occasional holidays and enjoys going to concerts.

Courtney Eilbeck
Courtney joined the Lismore front of house team in August 2023. She has a welcoming personality and loves meeting and greeting all our patients with a warm smile. Courtney loves to help patient’s, managing their queries and booking their appointments is amongst some of her daily tasks. In her spare time Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and walking her three dogs.
Hollie Robinson
Hollie joined the Lismore team as a trainee dental nurse in 2023. She is training hard towards her qualification and is an asset to our team. She is a friendly and hard-working nurse that particularly enjoys working alongside our clinicians Matt and Angela. In her spare time Hollie likes to go shopping and enjoys socialising over a meal out with friends.
Jayne Wilson
Jayne qualified as a hygienist in Sheffield over 20 years ago and joined the Lismore team in 2022. She is a very gentle hygienist that understands her patient’s needs and takes her time to give them a calm journey within the practice. Jayne has a bubbly personality and really loves to get to know her patients well. She is a very warm and welcoming member of the team. In her spare time Jayne loves to socialise with her friends and family, meeting up with them regularly is very important to her.
Julie Richardson
Julie qualified as a dental nurse in 2007 and has enjoyed working in a few local practices over the years. We were delighted when Julie joined the Lismore team in 2022 bringing to the practice a wealth of much useful knowledge and experience. Julie has a wonderful, serene nature which she brings to the dental environment, and she enjoys assisting our clinicians Mark and Angela very much. In her spare time Julie enjoys travelling to London to see shows and concerts, she also likes to relax by spending quality time with her two cats Amber and Tigger.
Lionel Lismore
Lionel has been introduced as the practice mascot for Lismore House since September 2023. Before this, Lionel was going to be doomed to the role of wedging doors open and was looking for a more fulfilling career. Lionel can usually be found in the patient lounge, ready to offer support to nervous patients, his biggest fans are our lovely children that like to make a fuss of him at their appointments. This can make their dental experience much more enjoyable and comforting. Lionel even offers colouring in sheets to the children as part of their journey with us, these really keep them entertained whilst they wait to see the clinician. In his spare time Lionel loves dressing up for all occasions and enjoys socialising with the team very much. He has recently enjoyed his first fishing trip with our dentist Mark and is embarking on some short weekend stays with our other team members. Lionel is a great asset to the Lismore team, and we feel very lucky to have him working along side us.
